How A Professional Ergonomics Program Can Benefit Your Company

Workstation Ergonomics specializes in assisting employers to provide a cost effective program to keep employees productive and on-the-job.  Our strength is our ability to identify job tasks, work habits, equipment and workstation design that can contribute to injury and recommend interventions to minimize risks.  Services provided can include:

  • On-Site Visits for new hires and for any employee reporting discomfort on the job.  Written reports with recommendations are provided, recording each visit. This provides documentation of intervention by qualified professionals for your records.  It also demonstrates to your employees that your organization goes the extra mile to assure their well-being. WSE staff works closely with Human Resources, Facilities Management and Safety personnel. Having outside consultants readily available can reduce issues that can arise when these personnel are required to perform ergonomic intervention for workers.
  • Assistance in Equipment Purchasing and Space Planning when working with vendors. This assures your company is buying the most effective products to avoid injury and provide workstations that enhance workflow and productivity.
  • Provide Ergonomic Jobsite Evaluations for employees with workers compensation claims.  These are frequently requested by treating physicians. Having a standing relationship with certified professionals will provide a consistent approach in this situation.  The staff of WSE is recognized in the Bay Area medical community for their competence in this field.
  •  WSE Ergonomics Lab is conveniently located in downtown Oakland. It can be utilized to sample employer approved alternative chairs, keyboards and pointing devices under supervision.  This assures proper identification of appropriate equipment and eliminates purchase of items that will sit unused, or worse, cause further injury.
  • Assist in Identifying Appropriate “Modified Work” and note necessary equipment for safe return-to-work plans as outlined in California Workers Compensation Bill SB899.
